Educational mission

Our long-term goal is to train a critical mass of modeling scientists who are:
  1. retained within the African region
  2. training the next generation of modelers
  3. working closely with local NMCPs to provide operational support
  4. competitive in obtaining grants from international funding agencies and
  5. closely networked with each other across Africa and beyond.

Faculty enrichment program 2023

We are hosting 3 faculty for an in-person faculty enrichment course in 2023. Course materials are available here.

The 2023 program, "Pilot faculty enrichment program for Sub-Saharan African modelers", is supported by a Project Award from Northwestern's Institute for Global Health and a Mission Advancement Award from the Department of Preventive Medicine.

AMMnet

We are founding members of the Applied Malaria Modeling Network (AMMnet).

AMMnet is a community of malaria modelers, data analysts, and partners who develop and apply quantitative tools to support decision-making and operations in malaria-endemic countries. AMMnet provides an open and respectful collaborative forum and support system for knowledge-sharing and constructive feedback with the goal of improving the quality of analytical support offered to malaria programs.
